      I dig the UP.

Glancing at your control panel I was wondering if you knew you are operating with what is called common wire or common rail. Not a good idea.

If you only run one train at a time you will be ok. Try running two trains in the opposite direction and I can promise you will see all kinds of poor performance issues.

Enjoy your model railroad and the UP performers. You couldn't pick a better railroad to model.

I only run two trains at a time. But sooner or later I will go DCC.

Yep, I never had trouble when running my trains in the same direction. I found I could run more if the locomotives are closely matched.

      Loads of fun...eh?
    • N-builder
Most of my locos are matched so they run at the same speed. I guess I got lucky when I got them. I have my two, three and four locos I run together and they have the same speed. That's why I love Atlas and Kato cause in DC they are closely matched in speed.

Yes, you are lucky to have them matched.

You can have hours of fun.

Took me a long time to match them but when I switch to DCC I won't have to worry about matching the locos anymore.

I'm looking forward to the same benefit. I have my DCC power supply and hand held and one locomotive. Now to convert the other 100+ locomotives. I'm looking for volunteer financial sponsors...LOL.
