Bet you $20 you could pass this off as a prototype photo and nobody would know the difference for about a week!. Excellent work!
Thanks Tom. In fact this photo has been mistaken as a prototype photo for the POTW thread of July 7th.
I saw the forum and couldn't help laughing. Either he completely mistook it for a prototype, or he just thought he could pass it off, too! The one feature that gave it away for me was the headlight. Kato's headlights on their mikados are just so recognizeable; plus they are the same color as the smokebox. If you paint it black and add a visor (like the picture I saw of the cb&q engine you modeled it after) then I think it will greatly enhance its appearance. BTW you owe me $20.:tb-wink:
Well, the headlight is my fault. I painted the whole smoke box silver-gray. I also noticed it was black when I found the picture of the prototype. Rest assured, next time I have the paints out, I'll be sure to fix that. Not sure about the 20 bucks though. Unless it were taken as a down payment on that steam engine time machine.
