      That engine is nice. I espceially like 12 wheel drive locomotives. What kind of locomotive is this? Looks like it would be perfect for yard switching and going into cities with tight curves and big hills. Looks almost like someone took a American EMD GP-30 and put EMD SD40-2 power trucks under it. What ever it is , it's neat.

      This is a EMD G12 Locomotive and is perfect for the New Zealand railways as we have tight curves and big hills and a gauge of 3 foot 6 inches.
      New Zealand railways first recieved G12s in about 1953 and sinice then have been rebuilt many times so the cab and body dont look anything like they used to.
      NZR purshed 146 G12s in total some were manufactured in Canada and some by Clyde engineering (Australia) under license from EMD.

      I thought the trains looked a little smaller than the ones here in America
