Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-Of-9-So...Gauge-Scale-mini-Readers-Digest-/141836808385
At least he added: "PLEASE NOTE: THESE TRAINS ARE NON POWERED REPLICAS. SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION!" And the wheels won't work...and the couplers won't work..and the scale is generally wrong, and the trucks pivot to about a 48" radius..maybe.....
Actually the High Speed cars can be made to work , if you really really really want to ....... But they will still look like toys ...LOL
Absolutely. Buy the High Speed car for ten bucks, put another ten bucks or more of new trucks and couplers, grind the undercarriage to clear the trucks, and yes, it will work.....but what did it cost you to have something that still looked like toys?
YIKES. The sad part is anyone who was watching or might research selling theirs, will be looking to strike the mother lode as well. We may see a bunch of HS stuff showing up now. Ugh.
$66.00 for $10.00 worth of junk...I can only guess that they went to someone who collects Readers Digest...
That's my guess as well. Some folks collect these types of promotional items. Otherwise, someone's gonna not be very happy.
more info on the winner who got the lot of nine High Speed freight cars the ebay bid history for m***s 321 shows: in the last 30 days, 818 bids on 150 items
The holiday-related ridiculous biding season is off to a rapid start. A few days ago, a Microtrains B&O coach went for $82.00 top bid. A "buy it now" listing for the exact same item, priced at $49.95, had sat there for weeks and expired with NO buyers a few days earlier. At the same time that coach went for $82.00, another by the same seller with a LESS available road number went for a "mere" $76.00. When they were still available earlier in the year, the dealers were selling them in the twenty-some dollar range. On the other hand, it seems like the sellers have been holding their items for just this buying orgy to commence. However, that means that a lot of nice items are being started at attractively low bid levels. Many identical items have been listed all at once by many sellers, which means that there MIGHT be a FEW that exceed current demand and will go for reasonable or even good prices. EBay will drive us nuts if we can't see the humor in it.
Which is the reason for this topic seeing such a successful run.... A lot to laugh about, ongoing continuously over there.
Here's a layout for sale. I especially like the pictures that show the 'tressel' made out of what appears to be just long plastic sticks stuck to the edge of flextrack and the one with the bridge support 1/2 inch below the bottom of the track. Absolutely no pictures of the entire layout or track plan. "This is the highest quality scenery you can get. The detailing is AMAZING!"
