I did buy some MEC brand stuff years ago to weather cars. No mica and it does work great. Was expensive.
So much awesome in the last few pages. Nothing major here. I needed a switcher for my Galesburg IL modules and the Kato NW-2's had the earlier scheme. Since my layout is centered in the 1960's, I wanted the post '57 scheme. Found a good deal on a used NW-2 at this past years Ohio N Scale Weekend and went to work. NW-2 by Jim Wiggin posted Aug 7, 2015 at 8:55 AM Almost done, just need to flat coat it, install the decoader, re-assemble, weather and put her to work.
Love those truck/trailer units. perhaps, because I drove one for Chevron. Nice looking project, you'll need to post results. Carl
Summertime weathering fun. The oils drys faster and the dullcote drys "flatter" when it's hot outside.
