We always had them, or upgraded them, to the 2046W eight wheel streamlined tender, or, if we were keeping it to run, the 2671W 12-wheel version. When I scrapped out my Turbines, I kept the 2671's and put them behind other locos. The 4424W and 4671W are "electronic train" versions of the 671W. Dave
Too Much for a bunch of beat up old Lionel & Marx http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-and-...251403?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2c85da840b
Looks like someone has been browsing yard sales and flea markets. There are some useful items. And a bunch of parts. But agreed, not for that price.
Three shots of the same cra...err....collectibles from different angles. I wonder what the boxcar without the box on top is worth? Or the work caboose with the broken off roof? The seller has exactly one too many zeroes in the price. Not worth the cost of shipping. Dave
That's a customized model, especially for eBaY shoppers. Probably worth $299.00 of the $300.00 asking price! Bid now and bid often. Ha ha.
The description for this "set" says that it is missing just the engine. However, I can see that it is missing a slight bit more than that. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Rock...194604?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item20ea9e45ec
Basically, it is just all of the little extra-ish items that come with the set. I just like how they still have everything but the train. Isn't it usually the other way around?
Usually. A box is the first thing to go. Then the rest gets beat up, and pieces scattered or lost. Somehow the description here needs just a bit more than noting the engine is missing, or better wording.
The description does say to look...if it's not in the photos, it's not included. Parts of a bridge...can't even tell if it's all there..plus some old track.....if it was local pickup and free, maybe, but even if free, the cost of shipping exceeds the value by a BUNCH. Estimated shipping is close to fifteen bucks! " Box of parts. No engine is included. Please look over pictures carefully. If its not in the pictures, its not included. "
I saw the "look" part. But it still could have better worded. I'm still trying to figure out how those wood blocks are related.
By marriage? I looked...you men the stuff that looks like a brick chimney and loading dock? Paper cutout and fold building...like the bridge. Real play value...crush them first use. Don't look like it's all there, so you buy some old track, probably a bad power pack, wadded up cardboard....so you can throw it away. But the box is uber-rare....gotta have that for the collection. Dave
This will probably be over by the time you see this but it's listed as K-Line, regardless of the fact that both of the cars is clearly labeled Lionel on the underside or ends. http://www.ebay.com/itm/K-LINE-O-77...243056?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item5669aeae70
Hmmm. They don't look used. At least the wheels seem clean. Interesting that a 35 year old TCA car has such little value. Nobody collecting them these days?
Like Convention Cars, Trash Collector Cars haven't much value in operations. I have a stack of LS cars...convention, shows....box and reefer....no idea what to do with them other than repaints. NOBODY wants them. Had a couple of Clambake cars (MR? GR?) couple of years ago I literally could not give away. If I had a car that had good road name and reporting marks, but some stupid convention logo, I'd be using some Polly-S decal remover and a cotton swab to remove those spurious marks.
Interesting that organizations can even sell them new, if they've so little worth. Just a whimsical throwaway? This is one factor we have seen in doing our special runs here. Demand for proto seems to outweigh the desire for something TrainBoard labeled. But we'd never know, unless we gambled.....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-POST...916286?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2ed60178be Pink girl's set, fourteen grand. Geez.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-1315...081443?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item564f819b63 I remember when they couldn't give these away. This is pre-bottom-drop-out-of-the-market pricing, plus two handfuls.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Stan...374684?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item43c9dae4dc Yeah, rare...but " The motor runs well but will not pull itself let alone the trailer. "
