I believe this wins the door prize .. And the door. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Tin...255550?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item20d5394c3e
You can't be serious right!?!? Another example of "just because it's old doesn't mean that it's worth much"... Now, the description says that the train is 90 years old, but if you did your math correctly, it would closer to 80. Let's see if some sucker will end up purchasing it and then find out that they were robbed of about $450 dollars... In other news I found this "circa 1965" set, but umm, I pretty sure that is not entirely true... http://www.ebay.com/itm/lionel-post...l_RR_Trains&hash=item257d0a4deb#ht_159wt_1328
I'm very UN-serious. Ha ha. It should win a prize, a free bus ride to the next bidders anonymous meeting.
Real funny, considering it is all of the cheap 60's stuff... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960s-Lione...088&rk=3&rkt=5&sd=121147191504&#ht_292wt_1328 I happen to have the engine that is in this set and I paid $50 for mine. Maybe I can sell it for $200!:cute:
"Condition is original." Hmmm. Seems like a roundabout way of trying to say the contents are new? Jumbled in the box like that, I somehow rather doubt it.
With shipping this car is $100. Sorry but that much for something that common? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Elec...250495?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item460ff2553f Again No. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pos...l_RR_Trains&hash=item4d0a35e269#ht_1334wt_904
I just gave two of the twin dome things and one of those plug door boxcars away for free to get them out of my sight.
On a good day, far enough away from 15APRIL so you've got something to spend, if the wind is blowing right....maybe five bucks.
700 bucks still seems pricey for this lot http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Train-Set-2-Engines-12-Cars-and-Track-/350880779262?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item51b21fcbfe#ht_387wt_1328 The description is comical on this one. Apparently, this group is in good condition. Sure. It also says that this is a wonderful find for collectors and that satisfaction is guaranteed. I don't know about you but looking at this makes me cringe and I know I would be rather disappointed (especially for that price). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Lio...=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item58a4cc9b24#viTabs_0
The first one is pricey. The second offering, well, it would be well worth that price... If you are paying for dust, dirt and abuse.
This mint car must have had real gold added for it to be at this price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Denv...429548?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a87526e6c
