I've noticed that for the most part HO threads and postings have almost disappeared from Trainboard. N and Z are responsible for at least 95% of the postings this year. My question is to what site did they disappear? Curious Jim
We're out here! But I have a curse - being primarily an N gauger, I'm also in an HO club and have lots of HO projects waiting - right after I get to the N projects I've been putting off. And then there is my O scale stuff - and I went and ordered a couple new O engines this week. So when they arrive I'll be all keyed up about O. I need help.
I, too, am here, although I probably don't see much happening in the HO forum and have just drifted away. Also, I am in limbo these days, sort of on hold over my layout and modeling. We are thinking of selling the home, and now that the layout is five years old, it has become an albatross. I want to move on to improve it, but must wait.....
I am modelling in HO, but I find that HO and N have a lot of the same issues. I read almost all the posts, and gain something from most of them... Thank you to all the posters (is that a real word?) Jim
I'm still with H0, my Westport Terminal R is running. But now I'm more into H0n3 with my Silver Valley RR. Wolfgang
I'm here too, posting regular updates, but I agree, sometimes it feels like a one-sided conversation...
Count me in as a minority if you wish but I normally check by everyday. I've kind of cooled down with my home layout being more interested right now in getting the club layout moving forward (both HO). And there's still a lot of good info on the prototype appearing on "Trainboard."
I've never been a frequest poster on TB or the HO Forum, but I am on here daily checking out new posts... I just don't have many questions to ask, aspecially when I can just pick up the phone and call someone.
Count me in too. I drop by every day to read the posts, learn stuff, and be generally entertained and informed. I might not post something every day, but I'm here and active in HO scale.
Still here too! I've not been here long enough to think that an abscence of HO posts is something strange though. I enjoy reading the N and Z posts as there's always something to glean from the info. But...I've always wondered why there's not much HO activity on the board. I always figured it was a cyclical thing....
I enjoyed your comments and takes. Looks like the HO crowd are a less 'talkative bunch. No problem with that. No one answered my question however: If you don't talk here, do you belong to another HO site where you do participate more? Thanks, Jim
With the work we have to do on our HO layouts, who has time to talk? Seriously, we may not be as vocal, but we are here. For my part, I've been busy doing housework (the tear out/replace/repaint/relay/repair kind), so layout building has taken a back seat. But lately, I've been getting the bug to start a couple of projects back up. Also, I've been doodling on some track plans to fit a small space to give my Frisco Geeps and switchers a place to run.
Railroad line forums and model railroad hobbyist. To be honest, most of the ho modelers here are active on other boards, I'm not one of those who post the same thread on every forum I belong too, but I'm going to post questions on a forum where I will get the most response. I'm here mainly for the prototype threads, and grow weary of the silly n vs ho vs fill the blank, complete waste of time to me. As far as N and Z making a majority of posts, many of those posts are general questions that span all scales, and should really be posted in the inspection pit, but for whatever reasons they don't.
I've been taking care of medical issues. Later this month I will be looking for work and new living quarters. Today I will be working on the local garden. Only the Docs know what happens tomorrow. eek: I still get in here when I can and read what the rest are up to but It's Spring! And you know were a young mans interests go. :tb-cool:
It seems that for whatever reason, limited time, scale xenophobia, arrogance, and probably many more, that some folks bookmark one forum area and only go there. So that is where they ask their questions. Then they become upset when you move their topic.
I been very active in N Scale and stayed on the N Scale forum however, since my near sight has faded I have been rethinking N Scale and been gathering my long neglected HO projects- like changing out some well worn plastic wheels for metal wheels, adding screws to BB car coupler pockets etc..I redesign my Slate Creek industrial layout from N to HO-this wasn't a overnight decision or one that I took lightly nor is it due to my faded near sight but,it was a number of reasons.
