Favorite war? Hmmm, sounds like the most passionate is the DC vs DCC. Almost a kin to Conservative vs Liberal.
Speaking of Mythbusters... I suppose this can still qualify for a "war". I want to see the Mythbusters test whether or not a penny on the track can shoot out at the speed of a bullet!
The "war" between DCC and DC? That ain't any war..mention that you use onboard batteries and radio control and believe that is the future of model railroading...then stand back, you will get blasted, deleted, banned, and generally blamed for the ills of the world. Don't believe it? Just mention it sometimes. W C Greene-Mogollon Railway
My favorite phrase is: "Well, I don't know anything about that, but my opinion is..." The value of the opinion is, what exactly?
GEeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzz...how could I forget that one? !! I have so many favorites...its a wonder I have any time to play with my trains !!! :tb-tongue: .
Hey Russell, I was gonna raise the whole metal wheels  vs plastic  IMHO of course, but you beat me to it Steve
Prototype vs Anything else That and the phrase: "You can run longer trains in N Scale" No, they are the same length - just fewer cars. Don't forget: Drats - forgot How about - no too controversial Then there is - no way I'm gonna mention that Maximum Grade is 2%
How about hand lay vs prefab track. I've been told by my LHS that no one hand lays track any more. However, everyone I know still hand lays track, so I have to question why this shop won't stock the basic needs, that is ties, rail, track gauges (yes it's plural. You need more than one gauge) and spikes.
I gotta go for the DC vs DCC thing on this one because it can spawn battles within the actual war. DC..Y/N DCC..What brand of decoder. DCC..What brand of system to start with. Digitrax/NCE/MRC/Bachman/Etc. DCC..Sound vs no sound It seems like someone can post that he is thinking of switching to DCC and it always explodes into a bash session. Fun reads though at times. Mark
