While y'all are at the N Scale Convention, be sure to check out the Z Scale module setup. I think you will find it most impressiveThere should be close to 20 modules in the layout. Have a good time. --Steve from the other Phoenix
I did book a layout tour--morning, I think? That cover layout on this month's NSR mag is on the tour... Tennessee Pass! Wheee!!!:thumbs_up:
Sadly, I am going to have to pass this year. Just too many other things going on in my life right now.
I'll be at the convention. X 600 and I are still working on the details of an N-Trak layout. Come by the layout and say "Hi". Also, you're all invited to stop in Olympia to visit the Mud Bay & Southern if you have a chance. I'm about an hour and a half north of Portalnd. Either before or after the convention would be fine. Jim
I would be happy to show off the Portland Area N-Trak layout to folks, also, if a time can be worked out. We're in southwest Portland near the edge with Beaverton.
The United Northwest Ntrak Division will be there with our stand alone layout and we'll welcome any Ntrakker's to stop by and say hello. We'll be running both DC and DCC. George, I hope that you're doing better and I'm looking forward to visiting WigWag in June.
I already brought a plane ticket but the idea of taking the Amtrak does sound good, wish I would have heard that one earlier. But I will be there with Bells on. Would be nice if we had some "TB" apparel so we could easily identify each other at the Convention. Hint, Hint sell some on site.:mwink:
They had different stickers of the different forums you could add to your name tag at the last show. Really a great idea.
I too will attempt to be there as long as I do not have another project to go to. I grew up in Portland, graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School, worked at a machine shop in St. Johns when I got out of school before getting into the power industry, belonged to a couple of Corvette clubs and still have family in the area that I would like to see.
Good to see you out and about George Good to see you George, I hope and trust this means Surgery went well. Good deal! Glen. And back to the topic, I booked the Layout Tour Thursday,& FT. Hood train Excursion on Friday. Looking forward to the Convention.
Stickers are a great idea but, given the limited size of badges, were hard to spot last year. So make them bigger this year!
2009 National N Scale Convention - Best ‘N in the Northwest ok, here is the first official plug for the convention... 2009 National N Scale Convention - Best ‘N in the Northwest Missing some ‘N’ in your life? Then mark June 16th – 21st on your calendars. The N Scale convention is coming to Portland, Oregon and it will be worth the trip! A convention this size does not come to the Northwest very often. Many iconic N Scale manufacturers (MicroTrains®, Digitrax, Kato®, Deluxe Innovations® and many more), N Scale vendors, and a "who's who" of well known N Scale authors will be in attendance. We will have great Northwest N Scale Layouts in the ballroom for viewing, Z Scale layouts, and on our extra fare tour; three of the best N Scale layouts that Portland has to offer. Mike Pagano is bringing his Spokane International to the ballroom and the layout tour will feature Keith Schaber's UP Blue Mountains and Rob Carey's DRG&W Tennessee Pass featured in the current issue of NScale Railroading magazine. If that is not enough, the swap-a-rama is huge and the auction will bring out the ferroequinologist in you! Don't let the "collector" name scare you. This is an N Scale Convention showing off N Scale (and Z Scale too) at its best! If you cannot make the convention…then the public train show on June 20th is for you. Come and see the layouts and vendors. If you live in the Northwest or California, you just won’t want to miss the fun. It's in your backyard. After posting here the other day I was thinking Pete, on another site that I frequent they have made up a Billboard inviting people to their site for members to copy and use as they see fit to promote the site. I'm going to copy that and make up a couple of Business Cards and place them in the back strap of my Cap; so folks that are Familiar with the site as we pass it might draw there attention. And as with here I posted my thoughts so they will know that it's me. Just an idea to kick around; and if your going you'll know it's me as well know. Later Glen
We are going to combine MRNS, 4TH Division NTrak, A&P Ngineers,Stevens Pass oNe Trak and a few individual NTrak modules. We don't have a lot of space, so we will just have some key modules from each group. We had a few space setbacks, so we rearranging things to fit the best layout we can. Certainly NOTHING compared to last year, but it should be a fun layout with some, but not all, that the Great NW has to offer. I'll post more info as it becomes available.
