Those last two shots really show off the reverse curves that are so relentless over the Pass. Very nice! Too bad you can't see them that way in person... But you have no shortage of other good angles. -Gary
Not the best I've seen, but these will give you the idea; a couple pages back I showed the BLMA HO; I lust for those in N... Here's a single head; the bidirectional singles would have two heads, one in each direction. And here's the double head; BLMA's have side mounted ladders:
Jim, I love how you stage people and activities, very convincing. The new sign looks great. And the snaked train shots were great as well. Nicely done! Michael
Jim Have you checked out "Tomar"? They have one signal which is close to what you are looking for in N-Scale. See tomarindustries.com
Close is the word, Glenn, thanks...no snow shields and they look a bit off to me...just not quite right, if you know what I mean...NJ International signals have the same problem - something just not QUITE right...
I love how they are referred to as "snow shields", yet the signals UP just put up on the track by my house (the bidirectional ones you want, replacing two old vintage SP targets) have the shields on them! Haven't seen a snow flake at Bay Level since 1987 around our house!
This week we're coming: And going: An Inspection Special on one of the few sections of tangent track on the Sub.
Oh the glare!eek: Thanks for posting. Both the passenger and coil train are great additions and show off the layout well, but those coil cars are awefully clean. Will you have a tank train too?
John, thanks, I just can't bring myself to dirty 'em up. You've got to understand about people like me (and my beloved spouse) - perhaps if you saw our house you'd understand. Everything in place. All rooms tastefully decorated and furnished. Everything neat and clean. If something gets dirty, we clean it. You will find no burned out light bulbs or inoperative ANYTHING ir peeling paint here. It's just the way we are. I see George Sellios' Franklin & South Manchester and despite the beautiful modeling, I cringe. Just can't do grunge! And there is a train of tank cars (including ethanol tankers), but with about seven or eight covered hoppers leading - if you look carefully over the last couple months you'll find it...One of these days I'll get more...I don't believe the tank train (oil cans) runs anymore...
I'm just teasing about the weathering Jim. I shouldn't talk much as my layout does not compare to your results. I do understand about liking it spic and span and someday you may decide to go the other way a little at a time, but in your time. We are all at different places in the hobby. Now I have a good reason to enjoy the thread all over again while looking for the tank train I missed. Thanks
So are you modelling the BNSF or yourself? Great layout though! And I agree about the Manchester and South whatever. Its overboard in the other direction.
The only things I keep clean are passenger trains...everything else is usually dirty a day or two after I buy it!
I cant bring myself to weather the brand new rolling stock and engine purchases i make (as rare as that happens). But the great dollar bin bargains i get at the train shows are fair game. I have no problem dirtying those up.
