Here's one of an Amtrak train (sorry, can't say which one) taking on passengers at San Antonio, January, 2006. No, that big building isn't the station. That's the Alamo Dome. The station is the little building behind the train. You can just see the pink arches. Regards Ed .
Here's a series of Amtrak #5's WB at Radium, CO: Exiting Lower Gore canyon: Exiting Tunnel 42: Leaving Radium behind: I have plenty more!
We lucked out and didn't get any more snow out of the clouds. However I bet the mountains got hammered. Ben
Thank you for posting that. I've been to that museum a bunch of times, and seeing that picture has brought back some memories for me. I love that place!
So far, all my images in this topic are in Colorado... Here's a little Montana action. Meriwether, MT at 79 MPH (in the middle of nowhere west of Shelby, east of East Glacier): And another day, at Two Medicine Trestle, just east of East Glacier:
Great Photo...I could easily have been on that train on my way back from a business meeting in Washington, DC. Boy, was it ever nice being able to tell folks "I'll be there for your 10:00 meeting", because the Crescent got into Alexandria at 9:00. The Finance Manager initially went into orbit until I pointed out that AMTRAK round-trip first class fare was ~$400 less than air, and I was saving two nights in a Washington area hotel at $250 each. Would you believe he joined me on one of those trips...and LOVED IT! :tb-cool:
