CSX's NYC unit 1853 is out of the Waycross paint shop. It's a GE ES44AH. Pictures from CSX. Is it me, or does CSX's chosen font (Roman?) look unusual? I'd have gone with what was more common as seen in the above photos.
Looks like the true NYC lettering specs got lost on the path from NYC to PC to ConRail to the split of ConRail between CSX & NS. Font used looks to be one of the standard CSX fonts. Maybe the boys a Cartersville could do a better job.
CSX's Monon unit is out of the paint shop in gold and black Purdue Boilermakers colors. Low resolution photo by CSX.
Monon operated two paint schemes. Black and Gold for Purdue and Crimson and White for Indiana University I attended Purdue for a year and a half.
CSX 1972 is out of the Waycross Paint Shop in Family Lines colors. I dunno about that that French Gray and CSX blue.
Just look at it from the rear! Weird, that flagpole is in the middle of the track? And why at half-staff?
CSX's Western Maryland Heritage Unit is out of the Waycross Paint Shop. A number of fans have suggested that including the black band at the top would have improved the appearance. Not all units had this though. Next up, Pere Marquette and Seaboard Coast Line.
One thing's for sure. The Waycross Paint Shop needs a camera with better resolution. Most of their official Heritage Unit photos look terrible.
The Cartersville Paint Shop does their RF&P edition https://www.railpictures.net/showimage.php?id=857332&key=8704908
