Amazon at times is like the Stock Market I have also seen items go down in price too. But more increase then decrease, of course Especially if you put them on a Wish List or Save for Later. You never know what the retail Ghost might do, and it is Halloween soon too
You too? I thought it was just me. I swear Amazon knows you have something in your cart and/or wishlist and raises their prices accordingly! The more you think about it, the higher the prices go!
I jot down the price while I check other resources. IF I come back and refresh the page and the price has changed higher...The 'X' on that browser tab gets clicked !!! It's a dog eat dog world out there. Retailers should know that if they throw ya a bone and take it away a sort time later...there are usually more places a few clicks away to get what ya want. JMO! .
It's the latest purchase but it's a bit disappointing as well. I didn't realize that Atlas had switched these from pairs in jewel cases to singles in blister packs. Need 2 for a project so guess there will be another similar latest purchase post in my future.
I do like those Red Caboose Autoracks MetraMan01. I bought a couple PSX units with audible alarms to add to my mobile DCC station. I can now have four districts, but only need three currently. So now our districts will include the four area port, the combo intermodal/freight yard with long led, and a branchline with intermediate yard. I wish I could change the sound so we narrow who the errant operator is. Not very sexy, but every tidbit helps.
Found a random seller from Spain on Etsy selling hand-painted N-scale vehicles. This one I just couldn't bring myself to thumb past and had to buy it.
I got my scale today. Now I can make sure the cars are balanced and the engines are heavy enough. That Bachmann track cleaning car discussed weighs in at 1.5 ounces. The SW1200 that had trouble is 1.7 and the GP20 that pulled it without issue is 2.4 ounces. So I found out what I've been missing out on. Onward ho!
Picked up lumber, foam insulation board, wire and screws for the layout and then went to the Hobby Shop and dropped off some HO consignment stuff and came home with 3 passenger cars, a boxcar, 2 tank cars, some track and a bridge.
Today I ordered about 8 mini jars of Tamiya acrylic paint, a Life Like fire station and an oxford fire engine (pumper), plus some Evergreen plastics strips. Also some Preiser and Woodland Scenics n scale figures. That'll keep me busy for a few years.
These are good looking models of the Ford LNT 9000 tractors, I just wish Atlas would also add mirrors to the models. That is the one thing I really like about the Athearn N scale trucks, they have the rear view mirrors on both sides of the cab. And I agree, it's disappointing those truck tractors went from a two pack jewel case to a single blister pack.
There was a guy who had tables full of junk close to one corner at the Timonium, Maryland Show. Girlfriend and I went Sunday. He had a never-out-of-the-box LL Erie-built A unit in Penn (no B, though). You do not see those often, any more. I bought it. I was surprised that it was on the table that long. I had to pop off the shell and spin the armature a few times by hand in order to get it to run. This seems to be a characteristic, of late, of metal frame LLs that never have been out of the box. You must give the motor a "little help". I also saw a C-C Erie on a different table. It was painted NYCS passenger colors. I did not buy it as I already have an A-A pair custom painted in NYCS passenger colors. According to Spookshow, C-C Eries are hard to find, as well. I also bought a WOT Central of Georgia baggage car ( I collect baggage cars) and some UNITRAK turnouts.
Ah, I'm greedy! I just bought 3 more N scale Southern 40' stock cars by Atlas. Hmm... that makes 8 or 9 hundred stock cars so far...
3x Fox Valley locos. The prototypes of the BNSF and CN locos have some interesting burned paint marks that I want to mimic. CSX 5387 was in a wreck in 2012(?) and rebuilt- the shades of paint after the rebuild are different and some of the doors are different/rusted from the wreck. I’m going to take this CSX and mimic that-might number it too, not sure. The Atlas RBOX is from another TB member from a swap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My turntable showed up today! But no instructions, I emailed Walthers, hopefully they still have a PDF of them.
