"Do not hump!" Logan, ND: Yes, I walked around it to see if it said anything else, but nope, just "R/W." Does this mean the right of way limit?
I always like riding in dome cars ever since my first experience in 1961 riding in a dome on the Great Northern Western Star from Seattle to Minneapolis, St. Paul. However, sometimes I just have to pretend.
Some random, fallen flags railcars I have caught recently. The rest of the rack was too graffiti'd up, so I only shot the logo.
Nice catch! Gons of this vintage are getting long in the tooth and nearing retirement. Shoot 'em now!
I've got a few from this week, Thursday, that I can play here. Taken at Wyomissing JCT, outside of Reading, PA, on NS.
From 04/01/1989, CNW 132638 at Attalla, AL. Build date is hard to see, but it appears to be '74, '76 or '78. Interesting ends on this car, perhaps engineered for extra bulkhead strength.
The picture doesn't do it enough justice, I swear it looked like somebody plopped another gon body down that just happened to fit inside the original. NS 10K eastbound at Wyo JCT, Sunday, 03/06/22.
