Hey, no biggie @BNSF FAN. I was just being humorous as there's always a "thing" between ATSF (as well as BN) and BNSF guys. And I know Eugen is more of a modern guy so I suggested the older Sante Fe logo'ing. I did add a smiley to the end of my post. I know things can get "lost in the translation".
Back in 1995, I used to hang out with Bob Smaus. His day job was the Gardening Editor of the Los Angeles Times, and that summer, I worked a paid internship at the L.A. Times. I sent Bob an internal email saying I was a fellow model railroader and we got to have lunch at the company cafeteria. Some weeks later he invited me to join in at an operating session at a friend's house in West L.A. Good times. I haven't been in touch with him for over a decade. He's retired and lives up in Northern California now.
You should drop him a line. I bet he would enjoy your company. What a reunion that would be! Life's short, do it!
I totally get it sir. Eugene has such a fantastic layout he could do just about anything and get away with it.
Hi bremner Thank's for your answer. You're right. Ipinchet the idea from Bob's article in Model Railroader magazine and reduced it tp N-Scale. 2006 I went over there and visited Bob's house. We where invaded to see his "new" layout and a Beer in his garden. He was talking about going up north. Then we lost contact. ☹ Give him my regards. Greetings from Swituerland
Yeah, that's what he told me when we last emailed. He lives in a cabin in the woods, literally! He kind of models vicariously though his friends now.
Nice to see those Katos properly trimmed out with white edge steps and sun shades! MUCH more realistic.
Eugen, your attention to the minutest details create lovely and realistic scenes. Thank you for sharing your skills. They are a pleasure.
