Absolutely beautiful photo! That '59 Ford is going to get a ticket. Oh, unless Canadian laws were different.

Cause he's parked next to a fire hydrant, or he's in the "Escort Club" with the ladies? Better off if the local police find him, before his wife does!!:eek:o_O

Russel, was your family station wagon a '61 Chevy? I remember my kindergarten teacher, a couple of years after I had her for my kindergarten teacher, bought a brand new '61 Chevy two-door Impala. It was that metallic goldish/tannish color with the interior the same.

I thought it was just the neatest car, in spite of my dad owning a '57 Chevy, at the time.

Yup, here it is four years later in New Hampshire after surviving a year in Alaska and a trip back down the ALCAN Highway. That is me and my older brother who took the photo in Dawson Creek.

That Reading unit is beginning to look a bit needy.

Saw this wreck transfer the other day, 17 May. PIC_0736.JPG
And this is just an interesting pic, and an interesting set of reporting marks. Nothing to do with the big woo woo woo train store! PIC_0820.JPG

Agreed. Each time I see it, more paint has flaked away. Not complaining though, as NS's Heritage Units have brought me and many other fans so much joy. (y) Hard to believe that these have been in service nearly seven years now.

Are any of the others peeling in this fashion? Just wondering if it was a paint application issue. That somehow this one did not get the best of prep work...

I see only perhaps four HUs a year, but the only unit I've seen peeling is the RDG. The DL&W is certainly a complex scheme and it still looks great.

Photographed today, Columbia, SC's Union Station still stands and houses a successful restaurant. It was opened in 1902 and was operated by the SOU, ACL and CN&L. The SAL built their own depot several city blocks distant. It too still stands and is a restaurant as well.

Lovely structure, though more appropriate as a city hall. However, I have seen a few mortuaries in Mississippi that resemble this building.
