I definitely agree with Yannis's observations on both of the above posts and with respect to Candy's upside down door all I can say is "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." I'm sure we've all overlooked something in a similar way at one time or another.
Thank you!! The first car is a '49 or '50 Chevrolet The second car is a '51 or '52 Chevrolet The Truck is an early Ford. ( What year? -- I have no idea) Thanks again, Wolf
Wolf, Your reply sent me to do a little research. What I had first thought to be an Oldsmobile due to the grille turned out to be a, in fact, a '49 Chevy, and a closer look at the truck showed it to have a Ford cab, somewhere in the '53 to '55 range. Can't tell a year for sure without a look at the grille.
Outstanding!! I'll take a photo of the Ford --- for further research. Here's another photo of it -- probably no help in IDing it. Thanks, Wolf
Wolf, Looks like it's definitely a '53. If you google each of the trucks (53, 54, 55) a lot of photos will show up and the differences in the grilles are readily apparent. The '56 was also a very similar truck, but featured a wraparound windshield. I should note that the center vehicle in the original photo is also a '53 Ford Crestline Victoria, the "fancy" Ford of the time. An excellent example is shown here: https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1953-FORD-VICTORIA-2-DOOR-COUPE-152008 In all, a nice, "typical" row of vehicles for the mid fifties.
I thought that middle car was a Ford .... couldn't decide which year. The rear quarter panel was the give away!! Wasn't sure enough to put in my 2 cents. (The Canadian Government stopped making them a while back, but I still have my hoard in case the price od scrap copper goes through the roof)!!! Jim
It's a CMW model widely sold in both N scale and HO back in the 90's. I've got several copies for the Ford dealer that will serve as a date stamp on my scrolling era layout. You can still find them on ebay occasionally.
