Of course I'm interested too. I know that SP run some of them Do you have a timetable regarding this project?
Actually I'm working on the SW1 project. I'll hope to be able to quickly finish the drawings ans make the etchings for the begening of september. Then 2 days to built and paint the prototype, and photos if it's good. I suppose that I'll have a lot of modifications to have a good model. My Z layout project has to be finished before the end of 2010 / I'll want to present it at the 2010 RailExpo exhibition (Paris-France). So I have to built one SW1, one SW9, one or two PRR cabooses (it will be a Pennsylvania inspiration), and a lot of industrial buildings. I'll give informations as soon as possible
Ok, when ready to run's in your stock, I can pass by car, from here to Lille it's just a jump +moules+frites+bière(s) late2::beer::mad-tongue: :cup:
"it's just a jump +moules+frites+bière(s)" Very good idea (particularly for the beer of LILLE, the best of the World). We have a very good restaurant for "moules/frites" not far from the house :beer::beer:
Back to original thread.... ...a Zthek SW1 in Northern Pacific colours for Thomas Buchner in Germany. Robert, looks somehow familiar to you, or Basically made from the kit with some hoses and cut lever added, custom decals, paint and mild weathering.
I do, but........................... I think I have enough parts to build two SW-1's, but they are all back home in Georgia, 19+ hours away. I don't see going home for at least 3 more months. I am sure several people on this forum have a Z-Thek SW-1 Kit laying around that they know deep down inside they will never build!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, don't even get my husband started, again! I will not part with my kit! He has tried to sell it before when I wasn't in town, I have now hid it. You'll never get my switcher!!! :eyeroll:
Hah! Tooo Funny!!! I would have never guessed that you had one of these kits, let alone having to hide it for fear of it being sold without your wishes!! Too Funny!!! Hobo Tim
Recently received!!! Recently I purchased a smaller milling machine. Will someday equip it with CNC, but for now, just manually operated. It will replace the milling capabilities that my Unimat, with limited control-ability(and failing bearings), has faithfully performed these past 5 years. Probably have machined near 50 Marklin 0-6-0 chassis to ready them for the SW-1 kits. Their was a time, not too long ago, when I could machine one of these chassis in my sleep for I was doing so many of them. For Lajos and for other fellow Z scalers! It is alot easier to prep the 0-6-0 chassis for the SW-1 using a milling machine, than to use dremels and files, like I used on my first SW-1 kit. Now I can venture into other machine-able projects!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, Do you have any of the 0-6-0 milled chassis left? I have a marklin 0-6-0 here but if you have a chassis already machined I'd buy one from you. Bob
No Extra's Bob, The only chassis I machined were supplied to me for machining. The first ever made was my own personal, and I used files and dremel. Sorry!! My dilema now is all my mill cutters and bits are in Georgia while I am stuck in Texas!!! Ugh!!! Need a vacation! Hobo Tim
Hey Tim, I may be a girl but I'm also a serious model railroader and Loren is a serious seller! We were at Lajos' home last month and he did mention I should hang onto it. I haven't built it yet but will someday and it will be Alaska. The laser is keeping me preoccupied lately, in a fun way.
