Tim, I agree, looking at your work (and everyone else's too:shade: ) is always inspirational! I too, would like to see pictures once you have them painted! Nice Job!! - Phil
Scratchbuild Snowshed I've posted this one before, my snowshed tunnel. These are obviously work in progress shots A few weeks ago during my birthday I set the layout up in our living room. The SP 4-6-2 was one of my gifts. Commin' out of the snowshed Testing the new tunnel entrance which is next to the snowshed
A little more scratchbuilding going on after work this week. Blowing off filling orders and making good on promised trades after work this week as I work hard at my day job, and need to relax. This is what is left over after a couple nights of good modeling relaxation. Still refining my 65' Drop End Mill Gondola's Here is the NP version as built in 1960: It has a wood deck, and the brakewheels were etched by Tim Beuhring: And here is the TTX version still under construction. It will have the steel deck. Full brake rigging underneath too:
Wow Robert. I speak it, and you make it. Amazing. I'll have a few of those TTX RailGons when you get around to it. :teeth: Beautiful work, as always.
Robert, As usual, your work is nothing short of fantaZtic! :shade: I hate those pesky day jobs (or night in my case) that get in the way! Very nice, and I look forward to seeing the completed TTX versions too! - Phil
I'd love to trade Bob but I don't have much worthy of your quality stuff. Count me in for 2 or 3. Don't mind a kit either. Will cash do? Our another bottle of Tekillya?
Hey SmolderZ: that's a great idea on that snow shed: a visible tunnel and emergency accesss to a derail. Good ideas. Going to snow it like Torsja's ?
More 65' Mill Gons This one is the CP Rail 65' Mill Gon in the Pacman Scheme. The Pacman side is the brakewheel side on both sides of the car: But I discovered there are some turning radius issues with this design, so I need to go back to the drawing board.
Fantastic! Robert, that is one beautiful gondola! Awesome! Can't wait to see what the TTX looks like! Wow! Hobo Tim
Personal Time! Just wanted to post a few photos of my latest personal projects. 2 in fact! One I have been working on for nearly a month, 48' trailers to ride on my Alan Curtis 48' Spine cars. I have cast, cleaned, prepped, painted, decaled, and clear coated 2 sets of five 48' trailers. Both sets are special to me, but the first hits close to home. Texas Trucking! Five different decals advertising some of Texas' top places to go or things to do. First is the TRE (Trinity Rail Express) "Ride the Rail", second is "Remember the Alamo", third is the San Antonio Spurs, fourth is the Houston Astros, and the fifth is the Dallas Cowboys. I have at least 20 more Texas ideas I could add to the decals. A hole fleet of cool Texas trailers. Patriotic Transport! Although I decaled five trailers, the decals are all the same. I could very easily include such USA advertisements as I did on the Texas Trucking decals, maybe later. I am a veteran and feel that certain parties are trying to de-rail (pardon the pun) this once Great Nation! All politics aside, I am a very Patriotic Person! I'll post close-up photos in the following 2 postings along with my second personal project. Look forward to all comments! Hobo Tim
Personal Projects IV Now, for my second personal project. Last week when Jeffrey White was visiting, I had a brain cramp, I mean a brain storm! BNSF "Swoosh" Husky's! Since I never get more than "Good things come to those who wait!" from Joe D'Amato at Micro-Trains on when a possible BNSF Husky will come out I decided to make my own! I stripped 7 of the least desired Husky's I owned (BN & CP) leaving me with near 50 TTX for future strippings. I Airbrushed them Dark Tuscan Oxide Red (Badger) and then created decals and printed them. I then gloss coated the sides, applied the decals, and then flat clear coated them. I had to paint the ladders and air tank/brake wheel also. After drying, I assembled everyting and now I have 7 BNSF MTL Husky's! Take a look! What do you think? Comments are Welcomed! Depending on schedule and free time, I might make more in the future! Enjoy! Hobo Tim
