I've been fooling around with controlling an HO scale truck using a WiFi interface. I can control the speed and the tail lights. You can see it working in this video.

The webpage is difficult to see, but what I do in this sequence is run the vehicle at 50% speed, turn on the left blinker, the right blinker and then apply the brakes (with brake lights). I painted a white dot on a wheel so you can see them spin.

Very cool. I will be curious to see more of your efforts.

I found the cost of faller products to be a bit high. I am fiddling around with modifying RC cars to go with Faller magnets and wire road guides.

I now have the vehicle stop when an infrared LED is detected on the vehicle ahead. The vehicle will resume travel when the IR signal goes away. The details of this project, include the source code, are located here: https://github.com/dtworth/ESP8266sensorScanner/wiki
