Soooo, I have my trains staged and allready for the next visitor when I decide to work on the layout. Make some progress, ya know? Hmm, I really should put all those trains away, really I should. Naa, I'll be careful.... Ooops, my hand slipped, Thunk! Crash! Crash! Plink! Rut ro, Plink!? no, not Plink!. Yep, Plink! As in the sound made when a wheel set goes flying as your car hits the carpet. Well, I'm sure George carries them if I can determine which ones they are. Plink!, Sheesh
Had an MP Pacific take a 4' plunge as I was leaning forward to put another layer of wash onto some rocks.
That's one heck of a fall--over 600 scale feet! Look at the bright side: the damage incurred was likely a lot less than a 12"=1' scale loco that free-fell 640 feet...
Using a Kato Pennsy E8 as a tester when running drops, I was working on the duck under when 1 reached for something grabbed the E8 and pushed it off. Total drop 52 inches to carpet. Rear coupler disintgrated and I lost one rear grab but it still runs like a charm.
I have a short cleaning track on the edge of a shelf under my layout. Not more dan 1 foot from the ground. But the coupler of that RS3 broke anyway, when the engine fell......
What... ...no video? Happens to the best(?) of us. I was using the 'ole 0-5-0 to drag a coal drag into a siding- doncha know they all dumped (onna curve leading to)- 'bout 20 cars. Ah, well- next time- think video! Errr, uh, by the way- love those coffee cup piers???!!! Mark
