Sometimes I hate to admit it but here I am 63 but don't feel it. I am one of the fortunate ones who retired when I was 56. I am pleased I did because the company I worked for went bankrupt. If I had stayed working I would have lost my pension and would not receive any severance. I was lucky and got a 62 week severance at full pay when I left. I pulled my pension money out of the company and invested it in mutual funds. Ever since then, my investments pay me well. I don't spend a lot of money but I enjoy life [IMG]
I have been a modeler since I was about ten years old. My first electric train was the Hornby Dublo Duchess of Athol. I still have the locomotive today. I also built and flew model aircraft. Radio control was a great deal of fun but now there is too much control as to who can fly when. In the clubs around here anyway. I also enjoyed sailing but gave it up when my children grew up and left home. My wife is not a water person and does not like sailing [IMG]
These days, I spend doing some volunteer work such as delivering meals on wheels. My model railroad keeps me entertained as does my computer. My wife and I enjoy hiking and have a small trailer so we can visit different parts of the country. Hiking in the Rocky mountains is awesome.
We have three children and five grandchildren.
So far, I am the only one into model railroading.
My favourite railways are the Canadian Pacific and the Canadian National. My M.A.T. is a freelance with interchange to both CP and CN

This is a Cool way to say HI. I'm 41 work as a tradesman (translated really handy guy) and model Western Pacific in the mid sixties.I garden , act as second vice for the local American Legion Post, And try to keep my RR at an operational profit. (fictitious books, but real customers and operating costs).I'm trying to recreate a brief period when several interesting things were happening at the same time in the vicinity of Oroville CA.

Yeah, this is kind of neat - see where everybody is coming from.

I'm 36, a senior NCO assigned to Ft Carson, and am currently working on my 16th year with the US Army. I had a bit of HO when I was in school, found some stuff at my folks house when I was on leave one time, and got drug back to trains from military modelling. Quickly realized that HO doesn't go well with small quarters and switched to N.

I've been involved with the Boy Scouts at the local and regional level, and am preparing to get involved with American Youth Soccer Organization - anything to keep the kids going, I guess.

As may be obvious, I model MoPac, and try to keep busy harassing those nasty UP modelers.

Like, that's a bad thing? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
We're privileged to live in a narrow-gauge Mecca, we got the ex-DRGW main line running
through the Rockies, the Front Range is active- we've got it good here.
I miss all those neat shortlines I used to chase back in the Midwest and South, but I'm getting adjusted quick to big-time mainline RR action in Colorado & Wyoming.
Oh yes, God bless Caboose Hobbies!! [IMG]

Cool! I'm involved with Cub Scouts over here on the Western Slope, and will most likely follow my sons into Boy Scouting. Despite what the liberals say, Boy Scouting is STILL an investment in our future....
BTW, I have done some MoPac diesels (a GP38-2 and a GP35M), plus three GP35Ms for Kiamichi Railroad, so I have no problem with MP, even though I'm a Frisco modeler [IMG]
