    Hi,

I have some old locos and want to buy 5-pole motors for them. I am also interested in getting a new 5-pole motor upgrade for my 8800. Is there a source on the internet that sells parts for z-scale locos?

    Thanks,

    Marshall

Ztrack lists a motor conversion chart with the old 3 pole number and the new 5 pole number so you know what to order.

Since you are in the area Marshall, you should try to stop by our Z Bend Track layout at the Great American Train Show in the Cow Palace Feb 12-13. :D

A few of us SF Bay Area Z Scalers are building Z Bend Track modules, and we are connecting them at the GATS show for our first time to run some Z Scale trains. [IMG]

The 8800 is one locomotive that cannot be upgraded to a five pole motor. The problem is that the motor is built into the chassis. You may want to contact Scott at Hemuts Hobby (540) 349-4910. He is probably the best Marklin service guy in the country. He may be able to tell you the options for upgrading the 8800. It may also be cheaper to purchase a Marklin fun set since $75.00 will get you a 8800 type locomotive, car, track and a battery controller. Not a bad deal!

I am going to do everything I can to make it to the GATS show at the Cow Patty. If I make it I will ask for Robert by name at the BAZ module layout.

    Thanks,

I hope to see you there Marshall. So far it looks like there will be 3 of us at all times, and a few of the other members will be stopping by on one of the days to run trains.

I am still working on scenery for my modules, and might even be planting trees durring the show.
