Has anyone heard from Candy lately? I'm curious how her latest building project is coming along. Candy ... if you read this, blow some bubbles so we know you are still swimming around under there!
Funny, I was wondering the same thing today.I just didn't want to look like a stalker by asking though ....Mike
snow snow snow I'm here. Just been trying to deal with the winter from hell....That don't sound right...anyway were buried in snow!!!! More coming tonight. Two more big storms on top of this: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, the beauty of Norman Rockwell, saith he from South Mississippi where the high temp touched 70 today. My deepest sympathies, Dear Lady. But a lovely New England Spring will be forthcoming in a few months, so take heart with a glowing hearth and ample adult libation. :tb-wink:
That looks familiar. Pretty much like a normal winter here! Where it's below zero right now.... And might not get above during the day tomorrow. It's indoor hobby season! Except for the folks who like to ski, and ice fish, and.... Boxcab E50
Yeah, looks like the great outdoors around our neck of the woods, too. I had to take a snow day a couple of weeks back, so I worked on some modeling. The trouble is, it's never getting warm. So what comes down, stays around. We're walking through canyons of snow here in Massachusetts.
That looks like what we had here a couple of years ago. The snow pile pushed up by the snow cleaner at the end of the driveway was over 20 feet high. Then there was the big blizzard of March 4-5th 1971. It took two days before the plows even got into our neighborhood. No school for a week either! Courage, Candy.
Enough of this doom and gloom. Here's my "shut-in modeling" project. It's the DPM "M.T. Arms Hotel" kit. I decided to go a bit radical with the polished black granite look. The other two walls are plain brickface.
If it helps, it's -11F at outside my office right now and they say tonight it might drop to -18F. Wind Chill is around -32F; and no, this is not normal for Denver!!! :we2-goofy: :we2-goofy: :we2-goofy: :we2-goofy:
Hopefully it will warm up a bit before the weekend. I am flying in to Denver on Friday. Guess I will just have to pack some extra long johns. Candy, good luck digging out from this next blast of winter.
Weekend weather looks to be more normal 40's/20's; this bitter cold should be gone by Wednesday...
Well glad to know that your okay besides being slightly buried in Candy; good thing is lots of Modeling time, and family time. Take care and see ya in the Spring:tb-rolleyes:
My fear would be a sudden long period of warm rains now! Thanks for letting us know you are OK, Candy.
Wow been a long time since I seen snow like that!! Used to live close to Erie PA. now that was some snow YEA!! .We only have a couple inches here with freezing rain today, much rather have the snow. People here turn into complete MORONS on the road as soon as it starts to snow.. GRRRR
People seem to be turning into "complete MORONS" all over the world for some mysterious reason (lol). I think the snow & cold just aggravates the condition. We're having blizzard conditions here in the flatlands, but the good news.......it's February. :tb-cool:
I love the cold, but not the snow so much. I have to admit I am looking forward to getting a ton of snow here tomorrow. For some strange reason I just love blizzards that shut everything down for a couple days. wink: Makes us take a break from the rat race for a while. I feel sorry for those that have to be out in it like police/fire/emergency people, and hope everyone gets home safely tonight and tomorrow. And no, I don't get the day off when there is a snow emergency - I work from home and it will be like being under Niagara Falls for me if most people I work with can't make it in to the office - I'll be doing lot of juggling to cover for them!rolleyes:
Bite thy tongue, sir! We're looking at subzero lows later this week- which, for Oklahoma, is just too dang cold. And we just got hit with 10-15" of snow with drifts & fierce north winds. It's definitely winter here in the Sooner State.
