Anyone know? I reserved one last September, and it said May was the release date.... I am anxious to see the new SP&S versions!
It's easy to predict when they'll be out! When your wallet is at it's leanest point, checking account drained, then they'll arrive. Probably can be found amongst one of Murphy's Laws of Probability. Boxcab E50
This may or may not be important to some of us: The "C425" that Lifelike is marketing is in reality a model of an Alco C424 phase 1.
Are they prototype for the paint schemes they are offering? I'm actually looking at getting a couple in N&W. I assume the ones shown in pictures are Ho models? Just how DCC compatible are they?
The pics on LL's page should be N scale. As for prototypes, the N&W units are properly numbered for N&W C424 phase 2 - reflecting the 1970 renumbering. But the LL model is a C424 ph1. The main spotting difference (U.S. production) between the C424 phase 1 and the C424 phase 2, C424 phase 3, and C425 is that the C424 ph1 has "bat wing" numberboards on the long hood while the C424 ph2/3 and C425 have the usual Alco "notched" number boards on the long hood. Thanks for the pointers N&W, Well I guess i'll be passing on these. The notches are the one visual aspect of those engines that just screams alco. I don't understand making an alco without those notches. Also I have sworn off of engines that require special effort to make them DCC. It just isn't cost effective. Both time and money.
Hemi I know how you feel. I would be in the same shoes if someone produced IC or ICG orange and white units.
