It might not look 100% right, but it would look good IMO. You could build a slight rolling landscape over the rice paddie shaped terrain to give the look of Altamont, CA's hills. Windmills + rolling hills = a very believable scene. [ 12. February 2005, 05:24: Message edited by: Fluid Dynamics ]
I've decided to go with the original plan - sorta - by using the town kits I originally bought. But the land will be flat thru town, not stepped. I figure I got to keep moving with what I have on hand, not create more work. But thank you all for contributing your ideas...it made for some nice dreaming/future planning!
OK OK...heres an update...... Painted road black and placed some buildings for effect: Where the pond will go: and the feeder:
hey Mike, you say that the road doesnt actually go anywhere...while we are all using poetic licence (after all, our trains dont actually go anywhere either), you could turn the road into a tunnel and let people THINK it comes out somewhere else......
I figured I spent $80 for the town set, might as well use it Looks like I got a moat waiting to happen as well.... where did I put that LEGO castle???
You could always try a wind farm. I remember one of the magazines had plans to build wind generaters or even solar panels with power lines leading out
Dis, I'm still toying with the tunnel idea... not sure though...although I could curve the road into the mountain and put a tunnel there. Hmmm... I guess the road does need to properly exit, stage left...
