Here is an old C&O beauty that reminds me of a blind date I had. (She has one eye and two huge air pumps!) The engine has..... [ 05 February 2002, 14:47: Message edited by: watash ]
The M-1 definitely counts as steam. It also counts as a plumbing nightmare. [ 08 February 2002, 23:54: Message edited by: crash219 ]
Ridgerunner, How bad do you want an H8? If you want an H-8 at something far less than brass prices, here's your big chance: http://shop.sslonline.com/cgi-sz4/webc/sz41/accounts/a0009622/st_prod.html?p_prodid=596&p_catid=48&sid=8jw30t0VaJxv70n-00102301718.25 The most important thing on the whole page is 'way down at the bottom where it says the member discount for Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society members is -$225.05 Considering it is a relatively inexpensive to join the C&OHS to get this discount, I can't imagine anyone paying the supposed retail. Besides, if you join, you get the C&OHS magazine.
Steam = H-8, nothing more mighter ever made Diesel = SD50's, Last unit delivered with C&O marks (although in Chessie)
Lord. I cant believe I havent been to the C&O Board in a while. My favorites are the lash ups of F7's.... with the low wave paint scheme. Mainly because as a little, little guy, I remember going on business trips w/ my father to White Sulpher Springs, WV in the late 50's. I ever so faintly remember seeing those things crawling in and out of White Sulpher with thissa and thatta freight consists. As a 5 year old.. those things were bigger than the world itself and the blue-yellow paint scheme was gorgeous. I never got over seeing those things and that ever cool C&O For Progress logo. End result 40 years hence... money and time going to the basement. -Kitbash
Nice... I need to get meself a lashup of N scale F7's. Probably go with ABA or else ABBA. Not sure what make yet, maybe Kato?
