Darren, I got a Mantua 2-6-6-2 that I can run (I have another one thats old that is missing a few parts, that was a kit I bought at a train show for $25). A leather Harley Davison wallet, and jacket, and a few small items.
I know you wont believe this but,, I got the chance to go to the LHS and get my own gift. We have a pool and draw names and the amt. is $50. Well, I have to tell ya that I started out to just get $50 worth of 'Stuff', I walked out of there with $201. Wife went with me and just enjoyed every minute of it, OR SHE LED ME TO BELIEVE. Gee, I am not sure if she did or not. Got any comments on this one??
Got 5 railroad books, a new toolbox, and a digital camera. The camera got put to work shooting pics of the wife, kids, cats, and of course, the layout. Couple of days later, I took it outside & shot some diesels here in Sherman. Closest hobby shop is 50 miles, so no gift certificates this year, but I was allowed to spend some coin at the Ft. Worth show in November, so I'm a happy guy in that regard.
I didn't get anything railroad-related this year, unless you count my in-laws contributing toward a new computer two months ago (which I am using right now, thank you very much!). I also got a DVD, which I got to pick out at Wal-Mart on the way home a few days ago. That's OK - except for the mail-order train store in my basement, the closest hobby store is over two hours away. Not too convenient for my wife to pick up something for me... Pat
Won't go too far with them last two cars without tearing up some ties..... (just kidding- great shots!)
Darren, you lucky ole fool! You got some nice looking cars to go with the railroad! I just got one piece for my collection the above stated Mantua 2-6-6-2, that I have planed to cutomize into a 0-6-6-0, (you guessed it B&O) DD-1 "ole Maude"... Be nice to have a moldel of the USA's oldest Mallet! Dated from 1904.
I was really good this year and I'm not done yet either. With all this rolling stock I just had to have something to pull them with too.
