I am F-Uniting out of my mind........ Not sure why, but I just picked up F7 ABBA ATSF, F7 ABBA DRGW and 3 F7A in ATSF And to top that off, I have a few bids on some FT's on that evil auction site...... Maybe it is because I just picked up a few passenger trains............
The last proper FEC scheme before Rail America. Thanks Bob, watch Kato annouced this next week at Ihobbie.:tb-biggrin:
Thanks. I have some more detail work to do but Jeff's work is much better than anything I can do. I made 2 Alaska SD-70's into FEC with the addition of SD-80/90 radiators, thought they looked good till I got one done right. Jeff did the GEVO demo also and Kato announced it the following week. Bob.
Show Purchase = Uniqiue Item for my Roster Found at a show last weekend: Kato SD45 176-311; was originally painted as AT&SF #5300 but has been custom painted as CP Rail "Dual Flag" #5493. Had been traded at the show, so hadn't been tested by the seller, but was sold to me sale or return for £35 (US$53 approx.) Got it back to my friend's flat and test ran it; ran nice and smooth. Took off the body shell and found it was not DCC Ready. Took care of that by swapping the mechanism with a CR SD40 that I had in storage at his flat (I have now given him the SD40 as a 'Thank you' - he only runs DC.) Also, the Horn was missing, but I knew I had a spare. Before I set about 'tarting' her up; painting the handrails and fitting the missing horn, I thought I'd just see if I could find some pictures of #5493 - I struck gold; #5493 was originally D&RGW SD45 #5333, but she was bought by Canadian Pacific in 1995 and rebuilt and re-designated as SD40M-2 and, as of 5th September, she is still on the active roster :tb-biggrin: So, handrails now painted and horn re-located and fitted; only needs a TCS K1D4 now. Photos to follow -IF I locate the camera's USB lead :tb-sad:
Don't know if you got your info from this site but here is my favorite site for looking up CP power -> http://www.cprdieselroster.com/
here are the newest 6 engines in my roster : these redbarn kits have been custom build, painted and detailed by me.
Your weathering looks great Sandro- a very welcome addition to those very hardworking time-worn units, now---where are your CP Gevos? my best, Jan
Yes, mine too :tb-biggrin: And this one's also pretty good for keeping up with what's active and what's not: http://www.thedieselshop.us/INDEXCLSS.html
Again, just when I said "no more" I spring for a beautiful Kato Amtrak P42 which I couldn't resist at $40, and runs great and is in clean mint condition. There were 2 on hand, and I asked the table vendor to bring it to Saturday's show if not sold when I left last show. So here I go, but as all loco addicts do, I have an excuse. This Genesis was one like I sold a few months back on eBay, thinking I no longer needed Amtrak. I regret selling it and my F40PH, my MHC and my set of Kato Superliners. What I want to replace them are another P42, another F40PH, another MHC, and a set of Viewliners and that is all I need for my Amtrak fetish. honest. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
Nothing new, but thanks both to a very gradually growing change in disposable income and a bit of economic assistance / coercion by a friend I will be ordering a couple soon along with freight cars. I've a feeling it will be the FVM GP60s.
Bought a second Bachmann H16/44 in N&W and renumbered it to 145. Now I can run a pair of engines to pull my trains up the helix. Though these engines are "plain Bachmann" and not from their Spectrum line, they are very good models.
