After extending the layout last year the existing curtains had to be replaced because i was unable to match the colour. Here are a couple of pictures showing the existing curtains and the look of the layout without curtains. Thanks to my Mother I now have new curtains for the whole layout not too mention an additional 14 metres of spare material for when I extend the layout down the other wall. Mum and Dad came out to my house a couple of weeks ago and measured up the layout for the curtains. My parents have always been supportive of my layout ever since i was a kid so it's great to be able to have them contribute. I still need to paint the exposed timber behind the curtains which I hope to do in the next few weeks. Here is the finished result.
maybe I should forward this link to my mom , I would have to translate it though since she is in Denmark. Seriously, it's a really nice gesture form your parents (or mom I guess), shows that they care about your work (or maybe she just got tired of the mess UNDER the layout , just kidding) Jesper
Nice work Paul, I look forward in seeing some action on it an all........ being it looks great as it is.. i'll bet you'll enjoy some run time on it! As the rest of us will enjoy seeing!

Thanks for the comments guys and yes alan and extension is a possibility but not just yet. I stilll need to finish the fianl part of the layout then I want to add a sound system to the layout. For those wanting to see action pictures my website has a lot of pictures. Thanks for the comments
Paul, Looks fantastic!! Now, about that control Panel,Did you make that up with a hadgepodge of ideas from various articles?was there a specific article that influenced the design? Can i Buy you a beer while we discuss my Panel ?
This type of panel is quite easy to produce I dont have an article but if you click on this link it will explain how i produced it Control Panel Ken, The grain cars were on special for $1 each from Central coast trains in Calif. They were discontinued models from I think Precision Masters (not sure) and are now sold under Red Caboose. I bought 60 of them and all I had to do was buy MT trucks. I am currently measuring and designing and extension of the layout which will add anouther 8 metres (24 feet) of benchwork space.
Thanks for the link. The panel face looks easy enough,Now the wiring looks a bit overwhelming but very nicely done.Very interesting reversing section also.Someday in the near future I may have to pick your brain a little more.Very Nice layout.Operation has to be alot of fun!!
