It's time to dive right back in with the Photo Challenges! Lets see those sweet SP prototypes; survivors, patches, memorabilia, anything! New photos are highly encouraged. :wink3: "Times up" will be posted next Monday so don't wait until the last minute. After the times up I'll post the poll for everyone on TrainBoard to choose their favorite image. Best of luck!
Here's mine from July 2, 2011, a REAL Southern Pacific prototype, leaving Portland Union Station for a trip to Wishram, WA and return. I guess I'm going to have to learn the new uploading system. I tried to import this from Railimages and it wouldn't take.
Fitz. I edited your post to show the larger photo. After clicking on the photo icon, select "From URL", enter the address from Railimages in the box and unclick the "Retrieve remote file and Reference locally" box. That should do it.
Don't worry, I hate it too (as do many people from what I've read on vBulliten's support forums). There is a petition to at least make simple embedding the default, rather than "Retrieve remote file and Reference locally".
I posted in the Modeling challenge, anything under the SP umbrella is fair game, and that goes for here too. CP, SD&AE, SSW, ect... I feel like I'm RIGHT THERE in that photo!
Mark, I figured that it counts since it says Southern Pacific on it....all SP/SSW/D&RGW's were repainted in speed lettering....here is the same train about 4 minutes later. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb158/twister302/SP9373Walong1993-94pt2.jpg
Espee's Tunnel #12 on the Cascade Line Between Fraizer and Cruzatte the line is built on a cliff or tunnels through solid rock.
SSW/Cotton Belt builders plate Through the serial number, the plate has been successfully ID'd as SSW/Cotton Belt GP40-2 #7652 -> UP #1405. However, I do NOT have any further information as to what may have happened to this particular locomotive.
it MIGHT still be running, it was in December http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2334288
