Happy Holidays all, Happy Boxing Day in particular. It's been a busy couple of days. Yards have been quiet around here and I've not gotten out anyway. I'm hoping to next week, gas tank willing.
A NS AC44C6M leads 3 catfish West out of Wyomissing JCT with an autorack train yesterday, Saturday, 12/26. I doubt all 4 units were online as the DPU was screaming as it rolled past, even for an EMD. There were even some untagged cars. DSC06471 by Sepp K posted Dec 27, 2020 at 12:43 AM DSC06481 by Sepp K posted Dec 27, 2020 at 12:43 AM DSC06482 by Sepp K posted Dec 27, 2020 at 12:43 AM
"Brown Season at Aurelia" The Northgate Local plies the rails of the Crosby and Niobe Subs on its trek to the international border at Northgate, its namesake. At Aurelia, ND, the branch soars over a coulee on a fill and wooden trestle over a creek.
I'm going to continue the "Stuffed and Mounted" theme with this tribute to Ephraim Shay preserved in Cadillac, Michigan.
You can't find it, because it doesn't exists. It's a screen-shot from the computer game Fallout 4 . More details here https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/NH&M
Wild looking B&O wagon-top style with some trucks I have never seen before. Maybe I'm missing it, but it looks like no bottom door track, either. Those gamers...
I've got a few wooden boxes similar to those in the picture. The national guard at Camp Grayling used to throw them away, scavengers would pick them up and they showed up for sale for $4 each at every gas station in the north country. They're handy for all kinds of things. I use them to carry my woodworking tools between home and the cabin as needed. I think they were originally used to transport mortar rounds or something similar. Not entirely sure.
It is a wierd looking car. The trucks are unusually located, far inward from the end sills. Someone wasn't quite familiar enough with freight cars?
