Still nothing new, still packing up boxes and tools for the move. Kato PC SD45 & SD40 pulling into siding with a mixed freight on the Strongsville Model Railroad Club Layout. Thanks for looking!
Hmm, I see it just fine. Must be or a temporary glitch or someone is taking a ride on the crazy train.
My layout is set in the mid 70's to mid 90's era but sometimes it is fun to run something outside that era.
Very nice Mark, thank you for sharing this. I noticed the scene at 5:25 with a bridge that appears to have been single tracked. I have seen that done in real life a few times but this is the first time I have seen it modeled.
I have seen this many times in the prototype where they built the bridge with only one track, but if traffic warranted it they could install the second track, much cheaper to build the abutments and piers big enough than having to add them later. Rick Jesionowski
That bridge is built by Peter Keppel of Minnesota Free-moN. It's based on the Yolo Bypass bridge in California. I was under the impression it was modeled per the prototype as having the second line removed. However, google maps shows the bridge is currently double track. So I don't know if this represents a specific time or not, either when the second track was abandoned or maybe they removed it prior to upgrades. It could also be proto-lanced to make the double track bridge a fit the single track Free-moN Standard. I'll have to ask next time I connect with Peter. One thing is for sure, it's an excellent module in every way!
Not going off the rails here- at least I don't think so. I see it just fine now. Nice shot. If I am crazy, do I get to play with the little tank engine?
Well, I don't have a bridge shot, but Burt Reynolds crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Here's my homage to him. A Reel Rides Trans Am seen at a crossing with the Rio Grande. Possibly negotiating with the crew to get some beer for the Snowman's truck.
I'm not good at deciphering much of anything Mark. What does Free-moN mean? I just can't figure it out
I've been quiet here for a while. I had to tear down my layout 1 1/2 years ago because I moved. The new house has a large basement. It had to be finished before I could start on the layout. I started in February with the help of friends. Here are the 1st pictures posted here on TB. I was able to incorporate 2/3's of my old layout.
It is a modular system that has some strict rules yet more options. It stands for Free Modules N scale. You have rules about the materials, height, DCC system, minimum radius and rail code....other than that, do what you want. I have thought about scrapping Playa Desnuda and rebuilding it using Free-MoN standards .
