Here are a few shots of the NTRAK module that was set up next to mine at the National Convention in Danville, Virginia last weekend. The trolley was not really moving too fast, I just used a slow shutter speed.
At the reqeust of COverton I've took another picture of my model last week. A lone pulpwood car waits to be picked up. It now heads east with more pulpwood. Dan
Dan, nice pulpwood loads. Out here in West Texas we don't see loads like that. My version may have too large diameter logs ? ? ?
Ahh, but you have to remember, things are just bigger here in Texas.:cowboy:Yee haw. (including the piles of cow stuff)
I dunno, Dan, I like what you have done, and I appreciate the more focused photo...thanks for indulging me. I think this new one does your fine model more justice. But as for the thickness of the logs, it really depends on who is doing the 'mining' and who the customer is and what he/she wants from the supplier. In back valleys, there might be stands of tall timber, much of it in excess of 4' in diameter at the base. If the customer orders big stuff like that, then the supplier would have large loads on the flatcar. I think Carl's is just right for that. And Dan, yours is perfectly okay for posts, pulpwood, milled lumber, etc. I think they both look very good indeed.
For my weekly submission, I show a NYC Mikado taking on water at Seneca Yard. It's a busy place today with work being done on a new double-slip switch.
Great pictures, friends. Thank you. Here's my part, mixed train at Salina. And a very decrepit siding.- Wolfgang

Now that I finally have some scenery, I can join all y'all having fun posting on WPF. :w20z6q: By a stroke of luck, I was able to catch today's southbound local coming into Saucier across Saucier Creek bridge to switch McHenry Tool & Die and Brown Manufacturing.
Mike - your loco weathering and detailing always amazes me. It has that worn but not too neglected appearance. Excellent work! Maybe you might want to someday try MEC 571 in it's next paint scheme.
