GREAT LOOKING scene. It looks to me that the facility had a recent upgrade (replacement) to their conveyor. New is always being added to old. It really does not look out of place. No need to excuse.
This was inspired by a kitbash on Mr Jon Grant's railimages gallery.... I liked it so much that I copied..... This is from an Atlas signal tower kit:
Smallbore, that is a great looking building. I am going copy that idea. I never looked at the tower that way before. Nice. Scott
Scott, EL had one about 1/2 of that. It was called"MS Tower". You can see how I remembered it. IIRC it was in a yard on the western end. Inbetween plays,I'll look it up for you.
Wow guys. Some good stuff in here this weekend. Scott your work is AMAZING! I can't believe it's N Scale.
I worked on some MRL Woodchip Hoppers. This one is made of paper and wood: I am trying for the look of the original MRL repaint of an old BN car like this one: Burlington Montana Rail Link?
Here are some photos from last weekend. I went up to Lander,WY for my nephew's 3rd birthday. I stopped in Cheyenne on the way through to grab a few shots. The night before Cheyenne recieved 6" of snow. Here are a few things I found outside that caught a blanket of the white stuff. UP 6936 844's sister 832 has been moved outside to make room for some business cars waiting to be refurbished. This one's for you Hemi!
One the way home form Lander I decided to take a small detour through downtown Hanna. I heard that there was a rotary on display. Sure enough there is. It would have been music to the ears and an amazing sight to behold one of these steam rotaries in action.
Here's what i got accomplished this weekend -- All track work done and sprayed flat black Bought a freight depot and assigned it a location put in two switch throws that work nicely Worn in painted track Continued to fiddle with clearing glue/paint from turn out points If anybody has any suggestions for clearning the points of turn outs that would be absolutely wonderful! I've been using the razor blade scrape method for quite some time and i'm totally clueless from here on out.... Any other comments and advice are welcome!
Thank you. When I first saw it, it reminded me of the old catalog cover photos of the early 80's. It's not easy getting night shots like that, especially action shots.
Sweet! They replaced the missing numberboards! 6 mos ago, those were gone--somebody "preserved" them before 5371 made it to Denver.... It's hard to see, but 844's sister engine and parts donor is actually 838. Sure is wierd to see it outside! Cool catch! I had seen that plow from afar once, but never got closeup shots of it. Don't blink when you pass Hanna--you might miss it!
