Some additional mockup on the C & L Layout this weekend! I want to add a spur or siding where the cow's and horses are as you can see my chair is right there and I would be able to use the magnetic coupler easier, and it would just be comfortable overall when running ( actually playing with ) the train's. I think the niece's and other young ones are going to like this, I hope. Especially the 2 new lines where we can have two trains running at the same time. I also want to mock up a lake, although I am not sure if I am talented enough ( meaning have the patience ) to actually make a lake!

Added the spur or siding and some telephone pole's. Have to say this has been one of my most enjoyable times working on the layout this weekend in some time. Not really sure why, I am just having fun. ohh that's the reason :) BTW, my road crew needs to decide on black, grey, or white :)

And another spur added. I think I got that name right this time. Feel like I am wearing my welcome out in this thread :) I hope not, but I have never posted in one of these Weekend Fun thread's. Maybe it was because I was not having fun, and this time I am :) Is there a limit? Thanks to everyone for looking!

There is not much to my modules alone.

Here they are in my garage.

Here is a set up for most of the month of May where I hooked up with a friend. He has an intermodal yard plus a loop that represents a small prtion of Long Beach and San Pedro.

A little late for the weekend part, but my Kato 381 series arrived today. Managed to get it broken in running on the club layout this evening during the final preparations for our open house this coming weekend.

That's an interesting looking beast. Looks vaguely aviation-influenced with the crew in a "cockpit."

I made a little corner of Lake Huron on my old module with rippled Plexiglas (shower door material) and the appropriate spray paint. Inexpensive, looks good, and almost as easy as repairing stuff with duct tape.:) It got a lot of favorable comments at my modular club, and when I said "Hey guys, nothing to it", I wasn't lying.

Can you buy small pieces of this shower plexiglass at Lowe's or Home Depot, or just have to find a junk pile :) What a great idea. BTW, just an idea could you use aluminum foil crumpled up to and painted to do something like this? Never mind the paint would never stay on it, my bad. Just wondering! They don't make blue aluminum foil do they :) After thinking about it sound's like a bad idea!

That has been my go-to medium for modeling water for years. It is quick and easy and not that difficult. I paint the underside and leave the shiny factory finish on top. I usually paint the deep parts darker and feather to a lighter shade at the banks. The water around here is a muddy green so it works real well. I cut a hole, mount the plastic from underneath and bring the landscaping down over the edges.

Many years ago I bought a good size piece of it that I pulled out of the scrap box at a plexiglass fabricator/dealer. If you google plexiglass you may find a similar business near you. If not I may be able to part with a small piece. ;) PM me.

I bought mine at a local glass shop (left over from a job, right size for what I needed to do). They cut me a pretty good deal on it.
