I managed to finish a couple of cars this week! One of many 50' PS1 Boxcars purchased by the Rock Island in the early sixties, this in a 1964 purchase of a Hydroframe 60 Equipped car. Kadee supplied this kit, painted with Scalecoat II Oxide Red and lettered with Mask Island decals. Another 50' PS1 Boxcar with Combination Doors purchased by the UP in 1966, just before the bann on roofwalks came in. I left it in the as delivered state. I also always liked the Autmoated Road paint scheme. Car is an Intermountain Railway Kit, added a Details West Coupler pocket to replicate the Keystone end of car Cushioning System along with A-Line Sill Steps. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow and Floquil Platinum Mist Paints then lettered with Mask Island Decals. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Here is one shot on my NTrak module outside. Reminds me of a California day................................................ Always have fun! Carl
More progress on CN GP38-2W: IMGP12986_GP38-2W_Painted by Mike VE2TRV posted May 12, 2017 at 7:22 PM Cab isn't glued down yet, as I still have a few details to tend to (it's a good fit, proving that the carpenter's adage, measure twice cut once, is just as applicable to model railroading). I had to replace the supplied bell with another one (Miniatures by Eric). It seems to have flown off into the same spatial interphase rift as Kadee coupler springs and other tiny detail parts. There's a parallel universe somewhere that's absolutely littered with such items. Cab glazing is in, though it fits very badly in the openings - I only put in the side windows (the engineer's side glass cracked as I put it in), and number boards, and used clear plastic packaging cut to size for the front. I used the glazing from the original Athearn cab to hold and stiffen everything. Next - decals.
This must be true. It has happened too many times, to too many of us. Seems more probable than any UFO sighting!
Looks like everyone's off to a great start!! The basic shape of the Kenai mountains are in place and getting a plaster cloth treatment! It takes a lot of plaster cloth to cover 4' tall mountains!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They're celebrating National Train Day today. An event happened 148 years ago. Here's a couple of photos to help you remember...
It will be great to see the scene around that bridge progress. Looks wonderful so far, a great spot to photograph trains!
Candy many thanks for the kind words! The windows/trim are all one-piece molded with the walls. I had to mask them. Very nice scene and photography at your Market Corner!
I like your scene too, Candy ... but it leaves me feeling, alone. Reminds me of my early days too. In fact, that could be me with my mother in the spotlight of the street-lamp. Happy mother's day.
