Good morning from sunny, hot and humid Northeast Ohio!

Did some more work on models and completed a couple this week.

Went back to work on a Eastern Car Works Covered Hopper kit where I am modifying the kit to more resemble a Bethlehem Steel Car rather than the ACF Car the kit represents by adding various steel plates and changing the roof hatch arrangement.

Still working on the Canadian Covered Hopper Car kit, got all the roof walk supports in and most of the under body detail except the sill steps. Also installed the ends in preparation of installing the Plano etched metal roof walk.

This is the kit I showed last week, it is a Bracnhline 40' Boxcar Kit, used the 4-4 ends and Murphy Panel roof to match the NYC Lot 743B (Constructed in 1945) specifications. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals.

Red Caboose Coil Car, was originally purchased in the 1960's by the GM&O railroad and repainted in the 70's by the merged ICG Railroad. In the late 70's and early 80's they replaced the angled hoods with new circular hoods with the Death Star Logo, the were first painted black like the car, but were later changed to a dark Gray. I painted the car with Scalecoat II Black and the hoods with Floquil Lark Gray, then lettered with Dan Kohlbergs Decals.

    Let's see the good stuff!

Thank you for starting this thread again this week Russell. Within the past week I finished an industry on my N scale layout. It is a plastic pipe manufacturer and I am only modeling the side along the tracks where they receive plastic pellets by covered hopper car. The silos are Faller kit 22207 and the rest of the facility is scratch built and shallow relief. In this photo, Southern Pacific GP38-2 # 4827 is seen pushing a pair of loads onto the spur. Have a great weekend everyone.

I know you friends are tired of seeing this in photos, so here are the absolute last postings of my n N Scale refinery petcoke unit. It is a combination of some bashed (the actual coke unit) plus some Walter's refinery kit plus 25 3v pico size LED's. I am quite happy with how it turned out and think that it fits into the Ewing Oil refinery quite well. See what you think, there is one daylight and one night time image for you.

As always, thanks for looking and Happy Father's Day weekend to all.

    Carl

Why would you think we were tired of seeing it? It looks great!

Working on a D&RGW diorama. Still a long way to go. Nowhere near a Candy Streeter scene.

I just picked up and old AMT 1/25 scale 40 Ford model car kit off of evil Bay. I'm going to build it as an old school hot rod with a flat head V8 and three Strombergs. Still love my trains, though! I got these Athearn N scale 50' WP box cars in the mail Saturday!

I spent Father’s Day working on my N Scale models of 1449 and a 1100 Class. I got my Tomyec chassis from Plaza Japan yesterday, and my daughters had fun trying to figure out the Japanese newspaper….I have not attached any part that needs to be black.

Had a Father's day brunch with one of my son'\s yesterday, then piddled around the house and yard. Finally found time to finish resurrecting these two old favorites! PIC_0464.JPG PIC_0465.JPG
