Russell thanks for starting out, those F Units are the second most good looking paint scheme next to the Wabash Bluebird!!

Got a couple of new cars done this week.

Atlas 1932 AAR Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Greg Komar's decals. Car built in 1937 and repainted into this scheme in 1951.

Kadee 50' PS1 Non Cushioned Boxcar Kit, painted with Scalecoat II SP Daylight Red and lettered with Dan Kohlberg's Decals. Car was built in 1962 and repainted into this scheme in 1969.

A thing I have noticed in doing cars from the Southeast portion of the country is how they put their reporting marks on the doors of the cars.

    Thanks for looking!

I've posted so many pictures that I can't remember if I posted this one or that one before. Should I just take a chance?

Candy, that's beautiful. Though I question "1961". That's a '52 or '53 Ford wagon in the distance, and hoop skirts and leather jackets were definitely out by '61. My brother's '53 wagon, my leather jacket, and my girl friend's hoop skirt could easily replace your models, though I preferred khakis over jeans.

However, I'm always sad when I see a trolley, a Peter Witt in this case, having to lower itself to diner duty just to remain relevant. :(

Please understand that you have created and posted a beautiful, nostalgic (for me) scene. (y)

In 1961 most of the cars in the streets were 1950s cars. Also bouffant skirts were still around until 1962

Shading it into B&W really gives it a nice look

Never hesitate. Repetition is no sin. Aside from pleasantly refreshing our memories, folks who did not see it previously now get that opportunity!

You are quite correct. Also, class photos, depending upon where you were, could be either casual or very formal. I was there.....

Both nice photos, Candy. I especially like the b&w image. Although I was pretty young then and wasn't paying much attention to girls or their skirts I was paying a lot of attention to cars and trucks and should note that you are correct about the vehicles on the road in 1961. I remember not only many from the 50's but even a few from the late 40's
