Last week I had a steam powered train coming up the hill, this week a diesel powered train! Stewart Alco C-628 and C-630 with 36 Ore Jennies, coming up the hill! Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Rick, the flanges on the Ann Arbor car appear to be Fine Scale. What scale do you model, and is it Fine Scale? Your cars are always a joy to see.
THe OT&W train show was held this weekend. Here's a shot of my Ford Fast, D&RGW train 179. Also a shot of some of the trains I had on display at he D&RGW Modeling & Historical society booth.
I replace all my plastic wheel sets with the standard Ho Scale 110 Intermountain Metal Wheels, I think painting the wheel with rust paint makes the flanges look smaller than they really are. If a car comes with the 88 Style Metal Wheels I use those as is. Paul, how can you have a Ford Fast without DT&I cars? That train originated on the DT&I and was handed over to the N&W at Delta, Ohio for movement west. Rick Jesionowski
Well, this is just a very short version of that train! I know that the 179 and the 178 had varying groups of cars. Everyone wanted in on that train!
Unfortunately you usually would not find that car on a Ford Fast Train, as Ford preferred plug door cars assigned to their parts trains. So the proper MP car would be this one: Robbins Rails/A-Line/Concor 60' Greenville Double Plug Door Boxcar, lettered with Oddballs Decals. or later this one! Athearn 60' Berwick Hi-Cube lettered with Oddballs Decals. Rick Jesionowski
I did get to do a bit of detail work done on the layout over the weekend. Now that this one town has all of he building in, and some of the figures in, smaller details are now in the future. Some Tichy stop signs were installed. The last plywood in the town was also finally covered up with Black Stake truck & auto repair and a fence was put up around the fuel tanks and Back Stacks. I have some signs to put on the fencing in the future. To the right of the fuel tanks is the local Sinclair gas atation with the Potato shipping facility and freight station. A lot more details will be going into the town in the future.
