WOW! Nice & early this week. You must be back home. Hope you had a good time. I'll be taking pictures later.
Well, yes and no. Got back into town Sunday last week. Today I had to get up early to travel to Denver to visit my brother to go skiing on old railroad right of ways. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
Taken last week at the UNW show in Monroe, here is the new sawmill on one of their corner modules, with the roof removed by a club member for my photo... My daughter Lucy, learning how to use JMRI...
Happy to oblige! Thx for asking. The bridge is largely made from styrene strip and Plastruct pieces as well as components cut down from ME and CV bridge kits. Rivets are Micromark decals. The central bridge has a soldered brass tube frame for strength/stiffness. The stone pillar is made from a couple of Chooch resin castings while the "concrete" pillar and abutments are made from balsa wood coated in wood filling epoxy for texture. Painting is a combination of Tom Mann's salt technique and Panpastel and chalk weathering. Hope that helps. Now on to the much large Kettle River bridge #4! md
Working on N scale Santa Fe RSD-15 Alligators. Using Jim Bence's (San Diego Society of N Scale) method of Atlas B40-8 mechanism fitted with Atlas C628 trucks. Here's photos of the mechanism, and here's the link to the Pbase.com web page where the complete set (of what I've done so far) is located: http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/n_scale_rsd15&page=all http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/image/148672756 http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/image/148672757 http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/image/148694137 Next up will be the major reworking of the shell, of course: strip, paint, decals, pilots, wire handrails, etc. The biggest piece of surgery needed on the Atlas B40-8 frames was creating clearance for the rear three-axle truck to clear the frame: http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/image/148672772 Have a good week, all.

Looking good, My weeked starts on monday so that is when I get to start doing things. This next week plans for me are to continue working on the benchwork, laying the foam board and hopefully start learning and playing with JRMI. Also need to start building structures.
Impressive stuff as usual, all! Can't remember if I posted this layout tour video here or not. Gettin' old I guess. Anyway, the train's going a bit faster than I normally run, and please excuse the mess. Click to start. Terry in NW Wisconsin
