Happy Veterans Day! Today we honor those who served in the armed forces. Here's a fitting homage to our vets, the Amtrak Veterans locomotive, leading the Empire Builder a few years ago in Minot.

The Veterans' units are beautiful. A reminder that we live free because others fight or fought for us to have that freedom. Let's show our gratitude for our men and women in uniform, veterans or active service.
At Wyomissing JCT this morning, 3 GP38-2's of varying heritage power the NS Lebanon Valley local as it returns to Spring Street Yard in Reading. Per Chris R. Toth's excellent NS roster, 5608 was rebuilt from a NW GP38AC, and 5664 was a PC GP38. NS 5822 was originally a SOU GP50.
Sunset behind the black bridge over the Yellowstone, seems appropriate for Veterans Day, Freedom ain't Free, and it is our responsibility to maintain that Freedom! As Veterans that swore an oath to do so. Remember them all!
