...some european stuff decaled, detailed and weathered, Siemens Dispolok ES 64 U2 (max power 9520HP / normal power 8704HP )
Robert Those are a couple of great looking cars. Eric and HemiAdda2d Great proto shots! John Some more great shots. That is a awesome bridge! John Sing Great layout shots! Mike Great models! I would like to see more of the culvert. It looks great also. Bob Nice looking RailBox car! Steve Great looking locomotives! Nice weathering!
Tried my hand at detailing a few units this week. Did find out one thing, brass shades are better then white metal. Found out something else, I need to learn to drill tow really small holes in a straight line. Here's an SP GP-30 I added number boards, white metal shades and hoses to. Now, here are the brass shades. No hoses yet but the shades rock compared to the white metal. I never thought I would do this so maybe the next step will be a bit weathering,
William, I used Sunrise for all. My LHS did not have the brass shades so I got a set of white metal to "try it out". Later that day I called Chuck at Feather River and ordered some stuff and included the brass ones. IMHO the brass ones are far better then the white metal.
Best bet for etched parts is Gold Medal Models. They make a diesel "kit" (part 160-7) in stainless that includes two kinds of sunshades, lift rings and long and short windshield wipers. Great stuff.
Not much time this weekend to set something up. Here are the next two locomotives I intend on weathering and doing some minor detailing. First is an Reading IHC 2-8-2 Mikado Second is an LNE IHC 0-8-0 Switcher. This will be my second one of these locomotives I have done.
Resourceful vs. Resources on the BearCatRR Here is 62' I-Beam Center Beam Flat...now a 48' Mod-a- due to short spur and tight radius can now handle more of specialized lumber loads.
Wow! What a selection of superb pictures! Plenty of inspiration here for my new layout. Steve, great to see the Dispoloks
It always amaizes me how much stuff is on John Sing's layout when it is still so compact. If he had never posted a photo showing the whole thing at once I neve would have guessed. And Tom's "Water Tower" diorama is always a treat no matter what he loads onto it. Thanks Steve for the European additions, the weathering is great.
I had an NYC open day on the new layout at the weekend. Here's F Troop - less the FA2's. I also picked up these 2 little critters at a swapmeet. Jon
Woohoo, Jon! Sac Northern in the UK! NICE! I agree, Russ, Mr. Sing's layout is awesome. Imagine what he could do to a basement!
