Here are some shots of one of my recent projects. I just finished weathering an IHC 2-6-0 camelback that is lettered for Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company. If I have some time this weekend I’ll get some shots of it “in action”.
Tom: Those are superb shots of that Camelback. The weathering is outstanding. Stay cool and run steam......
Great photos, everyone! Bruce, I really like the weathering you do. Excellent work! I stopped by Chuck's today and picked up my Atlas Tidewater Southern RS1. A surprise to me was how Atlas even got the lettering correct..one side of the loco is lettered differently than the other. Very cool! Now, I just needs a TS caboose...
Welll, now I can post my Marios's Pass photos. This is my mountain subdivision. Scenery will be improved during the next months! Looking south Looking north-east east east-north-east north (to the secondo level!) north - lower part of the climb snow and rocks shed trestle under construction ciao,
and the last one (for now!) Next time there will be some trains too! lower siding and mountain side: ciao,
GREAT work Giovanni! Can't wait to see more in the future! What gauge are you modeling? Is it N or HO?
Well I got the photo software out and inserted some steam. This is a Bachmann Northern converted to a heavy Mountain. The boiler is made from a discarded paint marker. It has been repowered and has tender pick-up. Runs really good except the drivers need constant requartering every 15 minutes. Good thing there are service facilites along the way!!!!!. One day I'll get brave and bring out the CA to give the wheel axle/gear assembly a touch.
Bill, that's N scale, of course! If I had to model that in HO, I needed a basement 4 times bigger! Ciao,
SNFF 2 27 05 Hi, all, 1. While not N scale, I was busy during Thursday and Friday evenings this past week on the layout tours at O scale West in Santa Clara, Calif. One of the layouts on tour was Ed Loizeaux's *S scale* layoutin Los Altos, Calif, modeling the New York Central's fictious Valley Division. This layout was featured in Great Model Railroads 2005 (pages 28-35). The night that I was there, Ed was running UP and SP trains, so that the western-based modelers there could 'relate' (smile!). Regardless, here's a couple photos from this latest collection of layout tour photos, a bit of a fun 'whimsical' photo with a beautiful NYC Hudson at a logging camp! : And here's a link to that album: http://community.webshots.com/user/atsf_arizona_layout_tour3 2. Meanwhile, the N scale Santa Fe Big Dome project going on over at: http://forum.atlasrr.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14800 is (slowly) continuing. My wife has designed the paint scheme for the interior of the Big Dome, in a two-tone gray. While not prototypical, knowing my wife's sense of color, it's going to look great under the dome glass. Here's an in-progress shot of the interior being painted: Enjoy, all!
I've stopped my building phase and enjoyed some operation. That's important for me! Here Extra 350 east runs through Third Street District on its way to Plywood District. Now, the train arrived its destination. Engine WT 350, ex SOO 350 picks up four cars at KWIK-E-MART. But at first, they have to open the gate! Then new cars are spotted. Wolfgang
Early 70s... U25B and SD24 working hard to lift tonnage (heavy grain train) to Marios Pass. Hope you enjoy! The poor quality is becasue this is a shot captured from a video movie Ciao,
Great photos all! John, your modeling is terrific! Since I put a road across my desert last week, I needed a road bridge across my canyon so I put one in today. The plaster and road caulk was hardly dry, but I wanted to get the pic before the end of the day. You can see the unplastered pink foam on the far right. Whoever identifies the engine in the background gets first prize. Bryant
Hmmm... I didn't realize this was blurry till posting it THis is the first consist through the new scenic run.
Very cool stuff everyone! This week I wrapped up work on my United Way loco. I saw some recent photos of the prototype and thought doing an N scale version would add some nice color to the layout. After seeing the photo I realized the side placard was tilted enough to drive me crazy, so I took them off and hopefully have them straight this time.
Giovanni Looks like your layout is progress nicely! You have some great looking bridges! Nice action shot also! Dan Great picture! The smoke looks great! John Sing Impressive looking locomotive! Wolfgang Great action shots! Bryant Great looking train and bridge! John Your layout is looking nice! Red Rock Great locomotive!
