There were six Via units in the Spiderman paint scheme - 6401/06/08/13/24/34. Here are a couple of shots of #6401 at Matapedia Quebec 2004/09/30
Saw one of the Spiderman units after the vinyl had been removed. Took a lot of the paint off too! Maybe that's why the rest have not been stripped.
Via 905 leads train 52 at Cobourg 2005-02-25. This P42DC has the "normal" Via paint scheme for this class locomotive. Here is a poor picture of Via 902 leading train 45 through Cobourg 2005/02/25. Notice the unusual paint scheme that "lil Blue Truck" noted above.
Via Rail locomotive #6429 with Telus paint scheme and loco #6411 with Operation Lifesaver paint scheme.
Via 6411 (F40PH-2) leads Via train 57 at Cobourg on 2005/04/15 in the Operation Lifesaver paint scheme.
It seems that across the world people are beginning to realise that locomotives are effective conspicuous travelling billboards But the Spiderman ones just look intimidating
Alan, 50 - 100 years ago, the railroads also realized the value of using their equipment for advertising. However, back then their advertising consisted of providing the best passenger service possible to impress the traveling corporate decision makers with the railroad's proficiency of service. Now the intent appears only to be a means of raising revenues...sad ain't it?
The times they are a-changin' Personally I like the blue with large yellow VIA and nose scheme, as we saw in Toronto in 1985. But I guess I could not expect that to last forever.
I like it. The upsweep of light grey looks sorta like a snow plume while busting through deep drifts.....OK, maybe a bow wake on a speed boat? Somehow I feel a little like Agent 86, "Would You Believe...?"
