use of fiber optic lighting

    would like to get some feedback on how popular, or not, fiber optic lighting is. if you use it, how? and if not, why not? i have been toying with it and came up with some "not seen on a layout yet" ideas.

    I used a New Haven boxcar, and installed 4 LED's inside the car, and "funneled" all of the Optics into their respective LED's. it is powered by a 9v battery.

    The photo was taken on the RIT Model RR Club's layout last winter. I have desires to build another one, whether it be car, loco, or caboose...
