Good day gentlemen, I'm about to paint a model in UP colors and I would like to know the correct name of the red streak on the UP engines.

    Does Floquil carry this color?

    Thanks in advance.

Good question. Since the stripe is Scotchlite reflective tape it changes shade depending on the lighting conditions. The strip is so thin any of the slightly darker reds should do, maybe SP Scarlet? Jim W (BNSF7123) may be able to give more insight.

Which scale, though? Microscale has UP stripes in HO listed, not not in N. They also have various decal stripes so you may be able to trim something suitable to use rather than masking and painting.

Don't ya just substitute '60-' in front of the number instead of '87-' ?? By the way, I'd much rather decal myself than mask and paint. The N-scale sheet I have is numbered 60-354 and provides both the upper stripe and the sill stripe. I have no idea what the actual red color is.
