Hey everyone! New to the message board here so forgive me if I am behind on anything or I have the same questions as other peoples but I am having an issue with the uncouplers on my Superliner train set. I have 4 MTH Amtrak Superliner cars and every time they go down a grade on my layout it seems that the metal uncouplers hit my middle rail which sets off the short out protection circuit on my transformer. I was wondering if anyone had a quick fix to this problem. Tape maybe? I'm using O gauge track and a genesis locomotive as the DPU. Thanks for the help! TrainHead
Welcome to the forum! I used to use the clear tape you could write on with a ball point pen on my uncoupler tacks. It was fairly easy to take a piece 1/2" wide and use an Exacto #11 knife to trim it off. I was still able to use the magnetic uncoupler. It was temporary, since the tape would wear out. But it didn't leave a residue like regular clear tape did. Hope this helps. Greg
