So the other day, I got these in the mail, a TYCO 4-6-0, a combine and two coaches. The loco runs like a dream...takes me back to 1972...

P1030642.JPG In the summer of 2017, I built this Tyco Mikado from a NOS kit. It was right up there with the most fun I've ever had in my model railroading history.

That's what this hobby is all about. Fun! I think we lose sight of that when we gawk over and rivet count high-priced ready to run models...

BTW, those are great models, Paul. I still intend to get a TYCO 10 wheeler, some day. My HO stuff is currently stored in deference to my usual N scale.

Great classic piece. I got to looking up some of the old Tyco adverts:
Who can forget the King Coal Set?

And the little known Tyco Pickle Set. I don't believe it was ever
    cataloged:

Are Tycos essentially from the Mantua kits?

I got my eye on several similar locos.

And that Pickle video was wonderful.
